SmartTripTanzania
Platform

Seven components. One booking file.

Most tourism software handles one service — a bed, a seat, a payment. SmartTrip is built as the layer underneath all of them, so that a change in one place moves everything downstream without anyone retyping it.

Run the pricing engine

AI itinerary builder

Traveller and operator

Destination, travel dates, budget, accommodation preference and interests — national parks, cultural sites, the migration, the coast — produce a complete plan: accommodation, transport, activities, an optimised route and a full cost estimate.

For a tour operator this is the quoting step, compressed. The itinerary is a document that can be regenerated the moment the client changes their dates, their party size or their mind, and every version keeps its own costing.

Dynamic pricing and cost calculator

The engine

Park fees, accommodation rates, guide charges, transport costs and seasonal pricing held as structured live data rather than a PDF someone printed in March. Adjust the itinerary and the system updates the total, the per-person price, the line-by-line breakdown and the payment schedule.

This removes manual calculation from quoting, which is where margin quietly leaks — a guide day rate applied for six days instead of seven, a crater permit forgotten, a peak-season lodge rate quoted at shoulder. The planner on this site is that engine, running.

Accommodation marketplace

Supply side

Hotels, safari lodges, camps, resorts, guesthouses and vacation rentals list full profiles: images, amenities, live availability, sustainability certification and dynamic rates. Travellers compare and book on visible criteria instead of on whoever ranks highest on a foreign booking site.

For a small camp outside Karatu or a guesthouse on Pemba, this is the first time the international market can see them at all.

Global tour guide marketplace

Supply side

Certified guides publish qualifications, languages, experience, specialities, customer ratings, availability and service rates, and are found and booked directly by travellers and tour operators anywhere in the world.

The economic point matters more than the software: a licensed Tanzanian guide currently reaches international clients through intermediaries who keep the relationship. Here the guide keeps the relationship and the rate, and the platform earns a commission on the booking.

SmartTrip AI, the travel assistant

Before, during, after

A virtual travel companion by voice or text in several languages: travel tips, destination detail, accommodation suggestions, route directions, wildlife information, translation help, safari advice and emergency support.

The value is concentrated in the middle of the trip, where a traveller in the Serengeti has a question at 06:00 and their operator is four hours away in Arusha.

Distance and route calculator

Logistics

Driving distances, travel times, alternate routes and fuel needs between destinations, fed automatically into both the trip plan and the cost estimate rather than being estimated in someone's head.

Arusha to Seronera is 325 km, of which the final stretch is unsealed and slow. A plan that does not carry that number produces a client who thinks they were misled.

Tour guide management dashboard

Operator side

Bookings, daily schedules, client details, expenses, earnings, activity reports and communication in one place, so a working guide is not running their business across a notebook, a phone gallery and three chat threads.

It is built offline-first. The dashboard holds the day's work on the device, and syncs when the vehicle reaches a gate, a lodge or a town — which is the only design that survives contact with the northern circuit.

Why it holds together

Built for the conditions, not for the demo.

Mobile-first, because that is what operators and guides carry. Offline-capable, because the parks are where the work happens and the signal is not. Multilingual, because the customer is not Tanzanian and the guide is. Integrated payments, because chasing a transfer across three banks is its own second job.

Those four constraints are the reason a generic international booking platform does not fit this market, and they are the reason SmartTrip is worth building here first.
